Santo Domingo is the oldest city in the Americas, something easily noticed in its colonial district. There you can visit the cathedral, the first hospital and stroll along the first streets constructed in the New World.

It is also a good destination for fun-lovers as the city hosts the largest carnival celebration in the country and many merengue festivals; it also boasts many night clubs and shops.
