Dunn's River Falls is one Jamaica's national treasures. It is just as well known internationally as reggae, and is equally as invigorating. There are few places on the island where you can clearly see just how fitting the name "Xayamaca" is, translated as the land of rivers and springs in Arawak, the local indigenous language.
Against a backdrop of beautiful scenery and a wonderful display of native flora, you can climb the waterfalls with their cool, crystal clear water. It is a combination of fun, sport and adrenaline that can be topped off afterwards with the visit to the local craft market, located at the top of the falls, or a stroll along the beautiful beach at the mouth of the River Dunn.
