40 km from Playa del Carmen, you'll find Xel-Ha tropical park, the "place where the water is born" as named by the ancient Mayans. It is a place of indescribable beauty, where a turquoise lagoon, a gentle stream of a river and a lush jungle come together at a wonderful spot by the sea.

You can discover the beautiful emerald jungle surrounding the river on foot, by bike or on a mini-train, and swim in one of area's many natural pools.

Xel-Ha is a universe dedicated to ecology and the preservation of the flora and fauna of the region. Inside the park there is a turtle camp, a dolphinarium and an apiary, which promote the preservation of these species, contributing to awareness and the ecological maintenance of the area.
